Living close to the land and the appreciation of fresh seasonal produce formed the basis of Edna's cooking philosophy. An early proponent of "farm-to-table" cooking, Edna became a world famous chef at many renowned restaurants, an unusual feat for an African American woman. The many books she authored have kept alive the Southern-style cooking she experienced as a child. The rich text and lyrical illustrations are by Robin Gourley. The narration is by Kim Sykes.
