One More Story at School
Subscribe to One More Story as a school user and gain access to our award-winning and constantly growing library of the best picture books currently in publication from over a dozen publishing houses. Let Ezra Jack Keats, Cynthia Rylant, Eve Bunting, Bernard Most and dozens of other renowned authors and illustrators come to life in your classroom. Professionally narrated stories and original soundtracks produced by former Sesame Street Music Director Robby Merkin complement your favorite titles like Rattletrap Car, Froggy Plays Soccer and The Snowy Day, without distracting from the elegance of the text and the beauty of the illustrations. The One More Story library is sure to delight, entertain and foster a love of literature, language and reading.
Use One More Story as an educational tool in your classroom to complement or augment read-alouds. One More Story also works wonderfully as a standalone component in reading workshop literacy centers. Young students can, with very little instruction, navigate and use the site independently. Utilizing One More Story's online library in place of a traditional listening center with a cassette player and headphones is a terrific way to integrate technology into your literacy block that injects new life and is a strong motivation for your students. As students grow into emerging readers they can use the I Can Read It mode to mute the soundtrack and read the story on their own, clicking on words they don't know to hear them read aloud by the narrator.
One More Story's school-based subscriptions work through IP recognition, a process that identifies the internet address of a school's network computers and grants access to subscribing schools. School subscriptions allow for multiple concurrent users.
Available only for school subscribers is a listening comprehension assessment tool, The Listening Game. Results of The Listening Game are stored in the Student Activity Log, which teachers can log in to access via the Teachers Place.
In-Network Subscription - allows students to access the site from any computer within the school network - $1.30/student/year (100 student minimum).
Universal Access Subscription - allows students to access the site from any computer both within and outside of the school network - $6.30/student/year (100 student minimum).
